Application forms are distributed by the Academy to eligible students during the notified period. Students need to fill up the forms and submit the same along with their recent photographs and copies of transcripts by the notified deadline. An entrance examination is held by the Academy. For Science Stream, the entrance test questions are asked from compulsory subjects like Science, Maths, English and Opt. Mathematics; for Commerce Stream from English and Maths; and for Humanities Stream from English only.

The students securing high marks are called for an interview. They should appear with their parents/ guardians compulsorily at the time of interview. Based on the performance of the students in the S.L.C. exams and entrance examinations held by the Academy, a merit list is published. Since the academy has limited seats in all streams, successful candidates should enrol immediately after it annouces the days for admission on the basis of merit list.
